u14s V Beverley
The u14s faced a well drilled, physical Beverley side on Saturday Morning.
Alfie one of the clubs Colts volunteered to referee the game and did a brilliant job.
The game began well with both teams competing fiercely. Our forwards gained ground with pick and go's before the ball went to Oliver who had to be strong but took the ball over the line for our first try of the new season !
Beverley came back at us and managed to spread the ball away from our forwards and scored next. We continued to play well taking the ball to within 5 yards of Beverley's try line but failed to score. Again Beverley came back at us and scored again.
We battled away and Riley scored to close the gap. Unfortunately Beverley scored another two before Oliver went over again for another Brid try. The game ended with Beverley four tries to Bridlington's three.
All in all a very good first game !!
Players of the match went to Oliver and Louie with a birthday mention for Arran - Happy Birthday !!
I also think a special mention should be made for Zach on his first appearance for us (difficult at the best of times) He had a great game and "certainly got stuck in" - well done Zach.
Also to Blake and Dan on first appearances and Oakleigh for his brilliant performance.
A very pleasing start to the season - well done Boys you all did brilliantly.
