With the help of the team today, we managed to get two games on the go. A huge thank you to all the players who had a go on the Leo's team. They gave 100 per cent effort and helped them out massively. Player of the week for me was Wolf. He scored some great tries with his amazing running. At times running the full length of the pitch! Dan's player of the week goes to Barnaby, you could tell he gave all the effort he had today, with some quick passing to set up tries when he got tagged. Well done boys. 🥳🥳🌟🌟👏👏

U10s

Bridlington RUFC U10s welcomed Leodiensian RUFC for a competitive and enjoyable morning of rugby, playing on a 35x60 pitch & four 12 minute games filled with effort, determination, and great teamwork from both sides.

Across all four games, Bridlington showed real resilience and attacking, moving the ball well and supporting each other in attack and defence. There were some excellent passages of play, with players working hard to create space and take their chances

Defensively, Bridlington put in some strong tackles and showed great commitment throughout, never giving up even when under pressure from a well organised Leodiensian side.

In the end, the visitors edged the overall score 8–5, but the result doesn’t fully reflect how close and competitive the games were. Bridlington can take plenty of positives from the performance, with great effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship on display from all involved.

A big thank you to Leodiensian RUFC for travelling and providing such a good contest.

U11s

Bridlington U11s continued their impressive run of form with a hard-fought 10 tries to 6 victory over Leodiensian U11s in an entertaining and action-packed encounter.

Bridlington got off to the perfect start when Ellis crossed for the opening try to give his side the lead. However, Leodiensian responded immediately with a quick reply to level the scores and set the tone for a closely contested match.

Undeterred, Bridlington regained control with two well-worked tries from Kohan and Ellis, stretching the lead to 3-1. Strong defensive efforts followed, with Bridlington holding firm under pressure. Ellis was particularly impressive, producing a number of outstanding cover tackles to keep Leodiensian at bay.

Leodiensian battled back into the game, first capitalising on an interception before applying sustained pressure on the Bridlington line. Their persistence paid off as they broke away to score in the corner, bringing the game level at 3-3.

Bridlington responded in style, regaining momentum through quick-fire tries from Kohan and Ellis. The attacking play was orchestrated brilliantly by playmakers George B and George R, whose creativity unlocked the opposition defence.

However, a lapse in concentration during the latter stages allowed Leodiensian back into the contest. Another interception try followed by a powerful close-range effort saw the visitors draw level once again at 5-5.

Entering the final quarter, Bridlington showed renewed determination, competing fiercely at every breakdown. Alex’s strong running secured excellent field position, laying the platform for Charlie to restore the lead at 6-5.

Sustained pressure followed, with Noel, Matthew and Jenson leading some clever forward play to pin Leodiensian deep in their own territory. Reggie then powered over the line to extend the advantage to 7-5.

Bridlington continued to dominate, with mazy runs from Tommie, Rue and Zackary putting the team back on the front foot. This attacking momentum was supported by the hard work of Joey and Michael in the pack, allowing Noel to crash through a tiring defence and make it 8-5.

Although Leodiensian managed a late consolation try, Bridlington had the final say. Will broke down the blind side before setting up Ellis, who crossed for his fourth try of the game to seal a deserved 10-6 victory.

Brid continue to expand with Oliver growing in confidence marking his 3rd appearance for the minis.

The win marks a fifth consecutive triumph for Bridlington, following big local derby successes against Driffield and Scarborough, and now an impressive result against West Yorkshire side Leodiensian. Brid roll into the annual Skegness SCI competition in a rich vein of form looking to shine at the showpiece event.

⭐️Coaches Player of the Match ⭐️

Alex - Relentless running and put Brid in a commanding position when they need it.

⭐️Parents Player of the Match ⭐️

Ellis - Dominant display in both attack and defence from the minis fullback.

U12s

After a challenging start in the first quarter, where we struggled to find our rhythm and lost some of our drive, the team showed great resilience to turn things around. The second and third quarters were much more balanced, with a noticeable improvement in teamwork and overall structure.

There were several strong positives to take from the match. Our rucking was effective, and our scrums were on point, giving us a solid platform to build from.

The two players from Leo’s who joined us really helped and gave us the confidence to play as the team we know we can be when we apply ourselves. When we stayed focused and communicated well, we demonstrated how strong we can be as a unit.

A helpful next step would be to watch rugby matches on YouTube, paying attention to positioning and how players move and support one another during the game.

Overall, a solid effort with clear progress shown after a slow start. With continued focus and teamwork, we’re in a strong position to keep improving, and I know we can reach that level if we apply ourselves.

Let’s arrive on Wednesday with the right attitude to work

Cheers everyone , a great day of rugby

U13s

Pastures new today with a road trip to Yarnbury. We did not know what to expect. The boys warmed up well, the ref gave a chat about what he expected and the game began, Right from the kick off our boys showed the desire to win fighting for the ball at every opportunity. Our counter rucking was too eager, getting penalised for it but credit to the boys (with a little help from Dans dulcet tones) they adjusted quickly. For the first ten minutes each side battled hard. We scored a try and it seemed to flood the team with confidence. Yarnbury came back at us but the boys held the line. Our scrum was so impressive today with Yarnbury loosing ground at almost every one.

All of the boys played well today. Forwards winning possession and gaining good ground through Harlan, Jackson, Harry and Louie with Arran also stealing the ball on a number of occasions. Rhys, Jayson and Bobby also did well swapping over as time went on. Josh once again running, passing and today scoring a superb try ! Harlan tackling anyone near him, Milo just tackling everyone and Ollie, Riley and Jake doing some impressive running. A special mention to both Dylan and Oliver whom seemed to be able to score from anywhere on the field.

The match ended 55 - 10 in our favour with Harlan, Josh and Dylan being awarded players of the day by the Yarnbury Coach.

A big well done boys !!!
