We welcomed St Helens to Dukes Park today alongside a lot of Scarborough players. Lots of rugby was played and you could tell towards the end that the five games where taking there toll on players! Think me and Dan were tired never mind the kids 🀣🀣 I was impressed with the rugby today. With some great passing and great attacking play. Think the next challenge is to make getting tags exciting and improving our defending. Player of the week for the Blues was a no brainer, I am not sure what Kim bribed him with today but Finley was on fire πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ scoring try after try. Despite me telling him to attack the space he decided going through the teams and using his footwork was a better option and made his tries even more impressive πŸ‘ŠπŸ‘Š Player of the week for the Reds again goes to someone who scored some really impressive tries, again impressing Dan, so well done to Anthony πŸ‘ Well done to everyone today. We will see you all next week for Leo's πŸ‰πŸ‰

Player of the month for February goes to a player who has impressed me and Dan not only through February but March as well. He gets more confident week on week and is growing in to an excellent rugby player. Everything is now clicking for him and it is so good to see. So a huge well done to Finn fully deserved πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

U10s

Bridlington U10s enjoyed a great morning of rugby in a three-way fixture against Scarborough Rugby Union Football Club and West Park St Helens Rugby Union Football Club.

All the games were very closely contested, with some fantastic tackling, rucking, great teamwork and brilliant effort from every player. The boys and girls worked hard in both attack and defence and showed great determination throughout.

A big well done to all the players and thank you to Scarborough RUFC and West Park St Helens RUFC for some excellent games played in a great spirit πŸ’™πŸ‰πŸ’›

The first two quarters showed some good work from the team, but we lost our heads at times and allowed West Park to take control in key moments. There were positive phases of play, but we need to stay more composed and focused when things aren’t going our way.

The third quarter was where the team really came alive. We started to challenge them at every breakdown, showed much more intent, and worked harder for each other. That period showed exactly what we are capable of when everyone commits and plays together.

Moving forward, we need to work on our gain line, tackling height, and discipline on the pitch. There was a bit too much complaining at times β€” we need less talking and more action. When we take big hits, we should respond by lifting each other and putting the pressure back on the opposition.

Overall it was a steady performance, but the final third of the match really stood out. That effort and intensity is the standard we should aim for every quarter. The key message is for the players to not be afraid of the contact, trust each other, and push themselves as a team.

Man of the Match goes to Billy for his composure and positive attitude throughout the whole game. He kept working hard even when things were tough and set a great example for the team.

Well done everyone

U15s

Well done with taking part yesterday.Β  There were some big lads but you didn't let it faze you and got stuck in against them. Man of the match from our coaches was Tommy Andrews for fantastic tackling and ball play.

After Tommy presented the shield to the touring team so they had something to take back to their club house we done Man Of The Match. Their coach picked for us and we picked for them.Β  Max Strand was chosen by them and we chose their number 11.
