U8's v Scarborough
Perfect weather for a Sunday morning of rugby! As always Scarborough had really strong numbers. Despite that both teams in my opinion out played them and played the better rugby. Everyone did so well to play four games in a row. Player of the week for my team (blues) went to Leni who was all over the park today. The runs and tries he scored were amazing today, as well as setting up plenty for his team mates with his quick hands. He was also barking out the orders and trying to get the line sorted for defence. Dan had this to say about the reds: Best I've seen the team play today 100% The Scarborough coaches where full of praise also said the difference between the last game against them and this was remarkable. Super impressed. Loads of talking / organisation between them too, the whole team. Could have been any of them genuinely for player of the match. Oliver just pipped it with scoring a few excellent tries, brilliant running. Honourable mention for Finn who was on a mission today for tags! Hunting people down. Charlie away next week so be taking training on my own........ Please be kind to me! 😅 well done both 👏👏
U10's v Scarborough
Bridlington travelled to Scarborough today, with the sun finally shining and the warmer temperature, we knew we were in for a great morning of rugby.
Coach, John says
"The Blues ready to rumble in this fierce rivalry between the two teams. From the first whistle of the opening game, they showed true team spirit and trust in one another. The defence was incredible, with strong tackles and relentless counter-rucking, while the offence was something to be proud of — hitting gaps, delivering great offloads, and supporting each other brilliantly. Hopefully this form continues and the motivation and momentum stay in our favour"
Coach, Lee says
"The Yellows started off a little shakey for the first 5 minutes due to getting familiar with their new positions but after conceding a couple of tries our forwards began to work tirelessly at the breakdown, winning important ball and driving forward with purpose. In attack, the backs moved the ball well, creating space out wide and finishing some well worked tries
Two incredibly competitive games, one draw and a narrow loss but more importantly, massive development shown by every single player. The effort, teamwork and positive attitude were outstanding. We took alot away from today & we have plenty to build on as we head into our next fixtures"
WELL DONE BRIDLINGTON U10s 💙🏉💛

U11s
Bridlington U11s produced a superb display of determination and attacking flair to edge past local east coast rivals Scarborough in a fiercely contested round-robin encounter played in wet and testing conditions.
With rain falling steadily all week and the pitch slick underfoot, handling was always going to be a challenge. But the young Bridlington side adapted brilliantly, showing grit in defence and explosive power in attack to win two of their three games, losing the other by just a single try in a contest that could easily have gone either way.
Up front, Noel, Elli, Micheal, Maff, and Joey were immense. Time and again they carried strongly into traffic, making big yards and punching holes in the Scarborough defence. Their direct running laid the platform for Bridlington to build momentum, even when the ball was greasy and footing uncertain. Both players refused to be stopped at first contact, repeatedly denting the defensive line and driving the team forward.
Out wide, Kohan was electric. Despite the slippery conditions, he produced several blistering runs that left defenders grasping at thin air. His pace and footwork turned defence into attack in an instant, swinging games firmly in Bridlington’s favour and lifting the team whenever momentum was needed.
Rueben, Reggie, Will and George proved invaluable throughout the tournament. In the tight exchanges, where the ball was often contested and chaotic, he showed tremendous awareness and bravery, repeatedly stealing possession from the clutches of the opposition. His work at the breakdown disrupted Scarborough’s rhythm and provided crucial turnovers.
Ellis scored three of his trademark full-length-of-the-field tries. Each one was a thrilling showcase of speed, determination and composure as he gathered the ball deep in his own half and raced clear to the line. He also added a fantastic interception try, reading the play perfectly before cutting through to score.
George continues to grow into the halfback position marshalling the troops and directing play.
Teddy, Dom, Oscar and Jenson all have strong accounts of themselves contributing to Brids success on away soil.
Special mention also goes to Tommie who was his usual clinical self in defence. Chopping down players twice his size to halt the Scarborough attack.
Although one game slipped away by the narrowest of margins, Bridlington’s overall performance in such difficult conditions showed their resilience, teamwork and attacking quality. Winning two out of three against their local rivals was a result to be proud of — especially given the wet weather and the intensity of the derby atmosphere.
A tremendous team effort, packed with standout individual contributions, ensured Bridlington U11s left the field deserved victors on the east coast showdown.

Firstly a big thank you to Dan for finding a fixture and to Hornsea for coming to play us.
It was decided to loan Hornsea two players so that every one of the boys could have a game today.
The weather was excellent and we matched it with our game play, The forwards once again powerful and dominant, our centres cancelling out Hornsea best players, and our backs putting in some superb running.
Everyone in the team was up for it.
Tries came from all over the pitch. A few things to improve on but generally another fine team performance ending in a 55-5 win. Players of the day went to Oakley and Carson both of whom not only played brilliantly but also scored their first tries for the team.(first of many I hope) Well done boys !
Finally a big shout out to Ed for reffing the match and to all the brilliant supporters (of which there were many) who turned out to support the team.
Apologies for not getting many photo's but Dan asked if I could get some video footage. more about that later, possibly involving Gregg and his pool cue !
The u13s also enjoyed a trip bowling after the fixture, all representing the club in their shirt and tie
