A brilliant morning of rugby away at Malton, with plenty of positives to take away and a real step forward from the group.

We took two teams, while Malton fielded three, so both of our teams got the chance to play against all three of theirs. It meant plenty of rugby for everyone and lots of opportunities to put what we've been working on into practice.

The biggest improvement, though, was the attitude. The difference from Thursday's training was huge, and it was great to see everyone listening, getting stuck in and working hard for each other. We still need to develop that killer instinct and be a little more ruthless when chances come our way, but the support play was fantastic. Players were working hard to get alongside the ball carrier, keep attacks alive and help each other out. There's plenty to build on from today.

It was also great to have three of our U7s making their first away trip with the team. A big step for them, and brilliant to see them getting involved and enjoying their rugby!

Players of the Week

🏉 Dom's Player of the Week - Ronnie

Ronnie had a fantastic morning, combining strong, direct running with relentless support play. He was always looking to get involved and worked hard at both ends of the pitch, including some important try-saving tags. A thoroughly deserved pick.

🏉 Rich's Player of the Week - Harrison

Rich's pick was Harrison, who had a super morning all round. He worked hard, got involved in the game and contributed well in both attack and defence. A great all-round performance and exactly the sort of effort we want to see.

🏉 Parents' Player of the Week - Frank

Frank takes the parents' award after a really encouraging morning. He showed plenty of what he's capable of, got stuck into his rugby and made a positive contribution to the team. A great step forward and something to build on!

A big thank you to Malton for hosting us and giving the kids a great morning of rugby.

Back to training on Thursday, ready to keep building on today's progress!

U9s

What a performance from our U9s today! The whole squad absolutely impressed the coaching team, showing fantastic effort, teamwork and rugby ability from start to finish. We really showed Malton how Bridlington play rugby! 💪

⭐ PLAYERS OF THE DAY

👏 Joey – Excelling in his new role at scrum-half, Joey was outstanding. His passing was exemplary, his distribution was spot on, and he showed real confidence in taking on the role. A fantastic performance, Joey! 🏉

👏 Leni – Turning up without his boots and still producing a fantastic performance deserves a special mention! 😂 His rugby IQ is through the roof, and his understanding of the game continues to shine through. An incredible effort, Leni! 🧠

A MASSIVE WELL DONE TO THE WHOLE SQUAD!

Every single player gave the coaching team plenty to be proud of today. The attitude, teamwork and determination on show were brilliant, and it's fantastic to see the team continuing to develop and grow together as a team.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone. We'll see you all on Tuesday evening at training! 🏉

U11s

Bridlington U11s travelled to Malton & Norton RUFC for another morning of competitive rugby with both our Blues & Yellows facing some tough challenges.

Brid Blues kicked off with a closely contested 3–3 draw before finishing the morning on a high with an excellent 5–2 victory in their second game. A great effort from the team who showed great determination and resilience especially in their 2nd game, working uphill & demonstrating class recycling of the ball under pressure

Brid Yellows faced a tough first game, going down 5–1. Unfortunately injuries began to take their toll heading into the second game & making things even more challenging as they went on to lose 6–1. Despite the setbacks, the players continued to battle hard & showed great commitment until the final whistle

A valuable morning of rugby! We always take a huge amount away from our fixtures against Malton & Norton. They're a well drilled & disciplined side who consistently test our players & push us to improve when ever we meet. These are exactly the types of challenges that help our players develop, learn & grow as rugby players.

A massive well done to all our players for their efforts & thank you to Malton & Norton RUFC for hosting us & providing another great test for our U11s 🤝 💙🏉💛

⭐ 🏆 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK 🏆⭐

🔵 Blues - Josh L

🟡 Yellows - Alex P

Well done guys, you both showed amazing leadership today keep up the great work! 👏🏉💪

U14s

It was a long drive for us today facing new opponents Dinnington. We didn't know what to expect but during our warm up the size difference was quite staggering. Our boys may have looked small in comparison but they sure did make up for it with Heart and Aggression.

We where able to match them and even won most of the scrums.

Bridlington were the first to score with Louie taking the honours for a wonderful try and Milo converting. Dinnington came back even stronger and scored two tries with conversions before Riley scored for us again with the conversion.

14 - 14 at half time and wow what a half of rugby it was.

The second half was tough with ebb and flow, neither side able to break the deadlock. Massive hits, superb runs, excellent passing and even some kicking. Full time came and it ended a draw.

It was a brilliant game with two good sides giving no quarter.

Well done boys you all played for each other and once again showed you are a "TEAM"

Dinnington chose Jackson as their player of the match with our player of the match being awarded to a well deserved Oakley !
