Another cold start to the Morning for our last 'normal' game of the season.
7 a side from both teams played on a double width pitch led to a high scoring end to end affair.
The team really grew into the morning, but voices were strong and effort high even from the start.
Two deserved players of the week with Erin and Charlie, but a big recognition of the entire team's progress.
Let's hope we can take this attitude into the festival season and see off the campaign in style!

Happy Easter everyone 🐰🐣🍫 we managed to get a good morning of rugby in before the weather turned. Me and Dan were very impressed with the rugby today. The quick passing led to some great tries. Everyone had some great runs and stuck in for the four quarters. Player of the week goes to Corey, he had his usual great runs and tries today, but he gets it for his excellent defending today really pushing Beverley back and snatching some amazing tags. Well done Corey 👏👏 next week we have Scarborough festival, I am still waiting to find out what fixtures we have and what the day looks like and as soon as I get the information will share with you all 🏉🏉

Brid U11s hosted touring side Hartlepool and local rivals Beverley in a double header on a bumper Easter Sunday of rugby at Dukes Park.
Brid knew that Hartlepool would offer a stern test having played them at SCI in Skegness in 2025 and are well versed in the formidable competition Beverley present.
Brid played 3 games over the course of the morning with the opener against Beverley Gold. The opening fixture Brid started well and had good possession deep in the oppositions red zone. Brid threatened to take the lead but a rare handling error saw Beverley capitalise and race away to take the lead. Beverley scored again as a high spiral kick wasn’t dealt with and bounced into a Beverley pair of hands to cross for a second. Brid were caught cold again from the restart a swift move from left to right saw Beverley exploit an overlap to go 3-0 up.
Brid managed to pull one back to make it 3-1 after good work from forwards Reggie and Maff gave Brid some good field position. The ball then worked its way through hands orchestrated by halfbacks George R and George B to find speedster Ellis who did the rest to cross the whitewash.
This moment of success was short lived as Beverley Gold scored twice more to take a commanding 5-1 lead into the sheds at the halfway mark.
In the 2nd half Brid looked tired and didn’t really get back into the game. Beverley scoring another three tries to put the game out of sight at 8-1. The ever dependable Noel managed to get one back from the hosts through some fancy footwork that helped him dance to the try line. The final score in game one ended with Beverley Gold 8 - 2 victors.
Brid had a brief break into which they patched up and dusted themselves down before locking horns with Hartlepool in which was probably the game of the day. Brid initially looked to have picked up where they finished off against Beverley Gold as they sleep walked into 2-0 deficit. Hartlepool hit their straps early but appeared to have awoken a sleeping giant as Brid blasted their way back into the contest. First a fantastic break away try from George B and then a weaving run from Ellis saw Brid bring the game back to 2-2. A mistake from the restart saw Zachary zip down the left flank and put Brid within striking distance. A whirlwind of a try from Michael saw Brid hit the front for the first time in the game 3-2. Palmer powered his way over from around 10 metres out with 3 would be tacklers holding onto him.
Hartlepool managed to level the game with well worked try down the short side to level at 3-3. This was short lived as the Brid locomotive 🚂 hit full steam ahead with great finishes from Reggie and Eli before Ellis dived in at the corner to put the game to bed. Brid eventually running out as 6-3 winners. Tommie deserves a special mention alongside George B in this game. Taylor phenomenal engine seeing him make tackle after tackle with the ferocious Brooke turning the ball over time after time for Brid.
Brid finished their Easter morning of rugby with a shootout against Beverley Blue. The game was a closely contested arm wrestle with Brid eventually running out as the winners 7-5.
Brid opened the scoring with a magical little show and go from George R who out smarted the Beverley defence before beating them for speed to score. Michael picked up where he left off with a battering ram style score to put Brid 2-0 up. Beverley then touchdown twice to level the game before Ellis grabbed a couple of his trademark long range efforts to nudge Brid into a 4-2 lead. Beverley then turned the tables again with two quick try’s to level the game at 4-4. George had a superb piece of link up play with Tommie which saw Brooke carve his way through the Beverley defence to put Brid 5-4 up.
Ellis who briefly guested for Beverley due to injuries scored to make it a hat trick but the final try being for the opposition to make it 5-5 🤦🏻♂️
Some good teamwork from Oliver, Joey and Jenson gave Brid some much needed field position. With the game locked at 5-5 Eli came up with a bit of wizardry which wouldn’t have looked out of place at Hogwarts. Beattie smashed through the Beverley defence to put Brid up 6-5. Beattie almost completed a carbon copy moments later but was halted by a desperate Beverley defence but not before he could get the ball away to the supporting Michael who beat the cover to score and give Brid a 7-5 victory.
A fantastic feast of rugby that was even witnessed by the Easter bunny 🐰 who popped down to drop a few eggs off to congratulate the team on their efforts.

Big shout out to the following players who really put a shift in today
Whippet ( Ollie ) despite feeling rough gave it his all, took some knocks but kept on going.
Jay Jay - did all what was asked and showed a real improvement today well done kiddo.
MoTM - Jenson - tackling machine and got a couple of cheeky tries well done, really can tell he has missed playing.
The lads know they have things to work on, and only they can put in the work off the pitch to improve.
