Dear Member,

Just a brief note to keep you updated as to what is happening within the club regarding the present COVID-19 Pandemic.

Firstly I am pleased to be able to inform you that Mike Myerscough will be continuing his coaching of our rugby teams during the next season once we are eventually able to start coaching our teams again of course!.

Mike is a valued and much respected member of the club management team and I will be personally glad to welcome him back at Dukes Park for the next season.

As you are aware, we will continue campaigning in the Yorkshire One league in the 2020-2021 season, though at present we are not quite sure of all the teams we will be competing against in the league.

Our friends at Hullensians and Keighley are unfortunately relegated down to the Yorkshire Two league, with Old Rishworthians and Roundhegians being promoted from that league.

We will have Huddersfield YMCA joining our league from North One East. And the decision regarding the other team relegated from North One East rests between Percy Park and West Hartlepool as to which will join us in our league, we await the news from the RFU with interest.

The two teams promoted from Yorkshire One to North One East are Heath and Old Brodleians, we wish them well for the forthcoming season.

As we have now started a new financial year, I would like to remind all that membership fees are now due, the membership fees remain the same as last year which are:

Vice Presidents £40
Playing Members £40
Full Members £30
Social Members £20
Junior Playing Members £30
Junior Non-Playing Members £5

Due to the loss of our revenue streams the prompt payment of membership fees would be greatly appreciated to enable the club to continue to function to some degree

As I indicated in my previous update we have had to postpone our party in the park music and beer festival scheduled for June 20th and I can now confirm that we have received the instruction to cancel until next year the Natwest Rugbyforce weekend on June 27th and 28th.

We of course have no further information as of this time as to when we could expect the start of the 2020-2021 season, the last information received from the RFU was that they were trying for the usual September start of the season.

We will of course keep you informed as to any news or progress made during the next few weeks or months.

Please do not hesitate to contact myself at any time if you require any further information.

See you on the other side

Phil Todd
Club Chairman
